JOB PURPOSE :

Lead and manage the Corporate Communications activities to establish appropriate internal and external communication infrastructure and support the development and maintenance of a consistently favorable corporate image for the Company .

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Communication strategies and management
  • Formulate and lead the implementation of internal and external communication strategies to help position the company as a leader in the industry, boost demand for various service lines and increase overall business opportunities.
  • Prepare and conduct communications needs assessments for the company divisions, projects and initiatives.
  • Manage the provision of information for elaboration of company management communications and outreach strategy based on the corporate communications strategy.
  • Oversee the development of communication materials for marketing and awareness-raising campaigns, including briefing materials, press releases, Q&As, press conferences, briefing sessions and interviews.
  • Manage and facilitate events and leadership activities that support the communication objectives of company.
  • Partner with all internal stakeholders to direct communication support for internal communication outputs and change programs.
  • Management of Editorial, Translation and Graphic Design
  • Manage the editing and translation for company publications and correspondence and their distribution in order to build strong image for the organization.
  • Manage the provision of greeting cards, diaries, calendars internally and externally in line with the approved plan to meet company requirements and timely distribution
  • Direct the graphic designing for all company publications and the company website ensuring company standards and needs.
  • Act as the chief editor to control the content and production of all Company publications at corporate level.
  • Oversee the production of specialized books and brochures by other Divisions of the Company, e.g. company profile, Annual Review, Anniversary books, sustainability Report, different divisional requirements.
  • Ensure maintenance of company library and control the international subscriptions, newspapers, periodicals, memberships and manuals for availability of such documents.
  • Direct the production of films and photography activities for use in company publications and ensure maintenance of company Image Archiving System.

 

Web Content

Manage the upkeep of company intranet and company web pages related to the Public Relations current with all links updated, administering the postings of messages and other service links tonsure communication of accurate information.

 

Media Relations

Act as a focal point between local and international media and company to ensure a healthy relationship is maintained with the press; plan for and organize media gatherings, forums and press conferences for special exhibitions and events in coordination with the group companies.

Monitor and oversee the coordination with local and international media to ensure the publishing of company news in local and international media for its clarity, quality, and compliance with company’s directives and approvals.

Monitor the content of press releases, advertisements, write-ups, publications in line with the company branding and communication style, while ensuring that senior management approval is obtained at all times.

 

Operational Plans

Develop consistent and realistic long and short term operational plans for the Department in line with the Division objectives and manage the implementation of the approved long and short term plans and ensure they are effectively converted into its performance objectives to realize the Division Objectives and established service levels.

 

Job Requirements                

Budgets and Operational Plans

Develop and manage the Department annual budget in line with the Division’s business objectives and operational plans ensuring that adequate funding provision is made for all Department activities.

Monitor expenditure against approved Department budget on a regular basis; investigate, highlight and reconcile any significant variances to ensure effective performance and cost control.

 

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

Develop and implement appropriate Department policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures and internal controls, Company guidelines in order to support execution of the Division’s work programs in line with Company and International standards.

 

Performance Management

Contribute to the development of the Division’s KPI’s and ensure proper cascade of the  Performance objectives within the Department and establish monitoring mechanisms to ensure delivery of these objectives and promote a performance driven culture.

Manage the implementation of the Company Performance Management System for individuals within the Department in accordance with Company approved guidelines.

 

People Development

Develop knowledge, competencies and innovative spirit in the Department and support the establishment of Personal Development Plans (PDP’s), Succession Planning and Talent pipeline within the Department in coordination with the Human Capital to continuously develop employees with emphasis on UAE Nationals to meet Emiratization targets.

 

Organisation Structure and Development

Review, develop and recommend the appropriate organisation structure for the Department that will best utilise human capital while proactively incorporating sustainability into the on-going work practices to meet the business objectives.

 

Risk Management

Contribute and support establishment of a Corporate Integrated Risk Management System within the Department, while identifying and assessing relevant domain risks and implement measures to manage and mitigate all identified risks within the Department.

Communicate corporate business ethics and Company’s Code of Conduct to employees within the Department and ensure compliance to the Corporate Policies and guidelines.

 

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Promote an organisation culture that encourages innovation, enhances employee motivation and supports initiatives for implementation of Change Management to continuously improve the Department operations and services.
  • Recommend improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the Department.
  • Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
  • Provide strong and visible leadership to promote a positive HSE culture
  • Communicate HSE Policy, Objectives, Requirements, Expectations and the most significant risks to COMPANY Onshore and Contractors
  • Identify, document and communicate HSE roles and responsibilities to the staff.
  • Ensure risk assessments are conducted and Safe systems of work are implemented for the work activities.
  • Implement reporting of Incidents, hazards, near misses and closeout of investigation recommendation.
  • Ensure work is carried out in line with the COMPANY HSE procedure requirements.
  • Ensure dissemination of Learning from Incidents to all respective parties
  • Carryout  the emergency responsibilities in line with the respective roles as per the emergency organization
  • Management Information Systems (MIS) and Reports
  • Ensure that all Department MIS and progress reports are prepared to provide accurate and timely reports and necessary information to Company Management to effectively manage the business

 

Additional Details                 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor Degree in Communication/Public Relations, Journalism or equivalent .
  • Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
  • 12 years of experience of experience in the Corporate Communication covering Media Relations and PR functions with at least 6 years in a relevant managerial role.
