1. JOB PURPOSE:
- Coordinate the implementation of the Permit to Work procedures and related activities with the Shift
Operations, Maintenance, Technical Services, Engineering, and Projects to ensure consistent application of permit conditions to work areas.
- Control the “Permit Office” activities to ensure, electrical isolation, permits security and maintaining of
records of all permits, scaffoldings, and authorized PTW signatories.
- Work as a Liaison Officer to enable De-isolation after completion of maintenance works.
- Maintain and archive all the documents related to work Management system (WMS).
2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Job Specific Accountabilities
- Identifies priority jobs in consultation with Operations Supervisors and coordinate with all departments to
plan for next day’s jobs with maintenance supervisors. Attends the daily morning and evening operations
Supervisors hand over meeting and liaise with them to identify critical works and SIMOPS in the plant.
- Participates in daily PTW meetings along with the operations and maintenance for discussion of prioritizing
and planning of critical activities for safe execution.
- Assesses all raised work permits to determine whether they include all required information and meet
standards, and therefore coordinates with various departments. Initial screening of PTW document for
completeness
- Manages the Integrated Work Activity Planning IWAP/ PTW meetings and ensure that they are registered
and recorded.
- Manages the Authorized Gas Tester / Radiation Protection Officer (or relevant) / Authorized Civil
performer with supporting documents, work site precautions, confirming that the work site preparations,
plans are adequate and equipment used for the work is suitable at worksite.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Coordinator, Permit To Work (PTW)
- Ensures that all the documentation associated are attached along with the permit including but not limited
to complementary permits, Mechanical Isolation Certificates, electrical isolation and marked up drawings/
P&lD and Job Safety Analysis are in place.
- Coordinates with operation’s supervisors regarding the lock out tag out safety device bypass and ensure
that the recorded register is updated.
- Maintains the Energy isolation register and extended period isolation register, Maintaining the PTW and
isolation status display boards, management of Lock out Tag Out (LOTO) System, verifying authorization
of isolation signatories, assisting asset owner and other personal.
- Ensures that adequate handover take place during shift change time with regard to job status and isolation
conditions during shutdown or Turnaround times.
- Marks critical and hot jobs on lants plot plan for easy follow-up and control during emergencies.
- Carries outs the job function in accordance HSE commitment and Policy to achieve strategic objectives as
stipulated in Company HSE management system.
- Maintains and updates list of Authorized Permit Signatories, Electrical Isolation Authority & Authorized
Gas Testers.
- Maintains the permits register for the permits issued in various areas and share it on weekly basis with
performing Authorities (PA) and Area authorities (AA).
- Ensures the permits are accepted and signed off by only authorized personnel
- Trains new employees for work management system and responsible for conducting the WMS exam.
- Carries out all Administrative functions of issuing PTWs.
- Maintains and Archive Job Safety Analysis Level 2 and Formal Risk Assessments conducted by various risk
assessment teams in the risk assessment library.
- Final Documentation/close out and archiving of PTW, Certificates, standards, and associated documents.

- Plans, supervises and coordinates all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
- Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job
and deliver the respective section objectives.
Budgets
- Provides input for preparation of the Function budgets, assist in the implementation of the approved
Budget, and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
- Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Implements approved policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support
execution of the Function’s work programs in line with Company and International standards.
- Complies with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.
Performance Management
- Contributes to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Department /
Function in line with the Company Performance framework.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Designs and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational
processes.
- Identifies improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in
line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
- Complies with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and
sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC
Code of Practices
Reports
- Provides inputs to prepare function MIS and progress reports for Company Management
3. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal
- Has daily frequent contact with, Operations Department Team (Operations manager, Engineers,
supervisors, Sr. Operators and Operators), Shift Manager.
- Regular contact with PAD (Managers, Team Leaders, engineers, Supervisors and Technicians) , HSE
Team & contractors personnel.
External
- Other counterparts in other companies for benchmarking and best practices purposes.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
- Technical Diploma, ATA Certificate or equivalent
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 5 years’ of operation experience including field and panel in hydrocarbon production systems with 2
years as authority (sr. operator and above)
5. TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Awareness of hydrocarbon production electrical system hazards.
- Experienced in checking the planning with data reports and generating the reports.
- Computer proficiency: Must have primary knowledge of: Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Project
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients,
and other employees or the organization.
- Possesses the ability to work with and communicate with all levels of management to secure
cooperation for performing maintenance, repairs, and alteration.
- Fully qualified personnel with all required accreditations for their operational role.
- Knowledge and understanding of all steps, roles & responsibilities in the ADNOC PTW process
including the functioning of the Planning.
- Knowledge of all required documentation (supporting certificates, attachments, etc.) attached to the
permit.
- Ability to effectively manage the PTW register.
- Ability to effectively manage the status display boards in Permit Control Facility (PCF).
- Knowledge of LOTO system and key management.
- Ability to archive the closed PTW and associated documents.

- The Salary mentioned above is inclusive of all allowances (including accommodation , food ,transportation etc.) and there is no other extra payment.
- Work Duty : 4 days work followed by 3 days off.
- Annual Leave:30 days paid leave on completion of each year of service. Economic Class Annual Air ticket will be provided at that time.
- The Employment visa & medical health card will be provided only to you (Single Status).
- Workmen’s compensation insurance will be provided by us. No personal insurance shall be provided.
